With new leadership and a new name, the company needed to get back to its roots. In the decade that followed the acquisition, the brand worked to refine and re-establish its identity in a market that placed a lot of value on heritage and tradition. As Jack Heuer had hoped, it was an instant hit. The original Carrera featured a simple, straightforward design. The name was inspired by the famous Carrera Panamericana, a border to border race on the open roads in Mexico. The entire Grande Carrera RS series is certified with the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres (COSC). Oversized screw-in crown and push-button clasps complete the sophisticated look of the piece which is also water resistant to 100 meters. The dials feature a hand-applied TAG Heuer logo and curved faceted markers. It is complimented by curved, faceted horns on both case sides, a curved, sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment and a double sapphire crystal case back. This model hosts 'Cotes de Geneve' screw and polished beveled edges.
